Grace Bay Beach Sandcastle Competition

Families from far and wide flocked to The Somerset on Grace Bay’s Sandcastle Competition on Saturday, August 17.

Competing for pride of place as well as for prizes were resort guest families from Los Angeles, New York and Toronto as well as from across the Atlantic.

Employing techniques as exotic as the “sheltered structure” method (one participant actually was an architect), sand was  soon flying everywhere.

Upon completion, it was incumbent on the panel of judges (seaside veteran and Somerset Beach Attendant Bernard, Caicos Kids Club Directress Keleisha and General Manager Urmas “Sand Hog” Karner) to choose the most impressive structure.

After much deliberation, a tie was declared, and all sand castle construction crew families were awarded gift certificates to The Somerset Boutique. A good time was had by all.
