Everyone has a story and a unique voice with which to tell it. This past November, The Somerset on Grace Bay hosted its first writer’s workshop complimentary for guests.

The weekend workshop was a relaxing and enriching opportunity for guests to add to their vacation experience.

Engaging Writing Sessions

Over two days in sunny Turks and Caicos, Annabel hosted morning and afternoon sessions on the terrace of one of The Somerset’s oceanside estates.

She spoke about her own approach to writing, the anatomy of fiction writing and the 15 beats of screenwriting. She also offered notes on character development and one-on-one story advice.

Words from Workshop Attendees

When not engaging in enriching conversation with Annabel, attendees retreated to the white sands of Grace Bay beach for independent brainstorming sessions and fun-in-the-sun.

One workshop attendee commented, “This was a unique opportunity to relax and expand one’s horizons while enjoying the stunning surroundings of The Somerset on Grace Bay. What a bonus to encounter this bright and thoughtful author who generously shared her craft with an engaging group of guests.”

Another raved, “The weekend workshop with Annabel was absolutely amazing. She is an all-around fabulous person to work with and was extraordinarily helpful. I hope The Somerset does an event like that again!” Stay tuned!
